Pressure Cooker Hard Boiled Eggs in the Instant Pot

Hard boiled eggs are a great go-to snack, and when made in the Instant Pot they are SO simple! You also use less water to cook in, and they peel SO easy its amazing! Even my preschool aged kids can peel eggs like pros, and they love to help! All you need is a trivet and 1.5 cups of water and about 15 minutes.

You will put 1.5 cups of water into the Instant Pot. Set the trivet inside, and stack the eggs so that they wont fall down. You will then put the lid on, locked and in the sealing position, and cook on Steam for 5 minutes with a 5 minute rest before releasing the pressure and moving them to a bowl of cold water. You could use an ice water bath instead of just cold water, but either way, you’ll want them to rest for 5 minutes in the cold water to cool, and then they’re ready to peel. That’s it! Thats all there is to it. 5 minutes on Steam, 5 minutes Natural Pressure Release, and 5 minutes in cold water or ice water.

The yolks are so much fluffier and lighter when made in a pressure cooker, you will absolutely love using them in egg salad or deviled egg recipes. I like to make a dozen at the beginning of the week, so that I can use 6 for an egg recipe such as egg salad, and that way we still have some whole ones left to snack on throughout the week too. You can easily fit more than a dozen eggs in the Instant Pot and it won’t change the cooking time, you could also use a lower trivet in the Instant Pot with the same results.
